To start off GDS, there were lots of good trades. We went in and picked the 10 most important (due to the level of players traded) and in no order here they are! Most of these trades are very close and hard to tell, but this my prediction on who is the winner. I put a emphasize on trying to win for this year if it's a tie, like my trade with the Clippers I won because it will make me better now...even though he may get the last laugh.
Toronto Trades
Chris Bosh (88) $15,779,912 $17,149,243
Hedo Turkoglu (80) $9,000,000 $9,720,000 $10,497,000 $11,337,408 12,244,400
2011 1st Round Pick
Total Salaries: $24,779,912
Cleveland Trades
LeBron James (98) - $15,779,912 $17,149,243
Ben Wallace (76) - $10,000,000
Total Salaries: $25,779,912
The Winner: I know some think that Cleveland won this deal, but man I sure just can’t see it. The Raptors acquired LEBRON JAMES, I mean LEBRON JAMES!?!?! Do I need to say anymore? All they gave up was Bosh, Hedo, and a 2011 1st. The only thing that may hurt them is losing that 1st, because Lebron is way better than Bosh. Bosh can’t even get his team to the playoffs in real life in the East, unlike a super star like Dwayne Wade. Heck Lebron single handily carried the Cavs to the Finals 2 years ago. Getting rid of Hedo’s contract is a plus, and Big Ben may have some value dealing him to a contender.
The Loser: I’ll say it now; no way Cleveland gets to the Eastern Conference Finals. Orlando and Boston have better star players due to this deal, heck Bosh isn’t very proven in my eyes. Hedo is better than Ben Wallace, but not as much as people think (since the game thinks Big Ben is still decent.) I didn’t see the logic for this trade, it was mostly an attack on Lebron in sims. If anyone should be bitter about Lebron in sims it is me, but I would still take him over Bosh…he did play well for my Heat in RR1 until the playoffs.
Utah Gets:
Amare Stoudemire 91 $16,378,325 - $17,686,100
Leandrinho Barbosa 79 $6,600,000 - $7,100,000 - $7,600,000
Grant Hill 75 $3,000,000 - $3,324,000
Utah Sends:
Andrei Kirilenko 81 $16,452,000 $17,823,000
Deron Williams 85 $13,785,000 $15,202,590 $16,647,180 $18,091,770

Total Outgoing: $25,978,325
The Winner: After a rough start and even having his account delete, Utah’s GM made a good deal in getting Amare and Barbosa. Amare is the best player in this deal, I know a lot of people like Deron but Amare Stoudemire was awesome. I guess injuries and Shaq have prevented him from showing that lately, but maybe the quiet of Salt Like City will get him going again. Like I said before this trade was 100% fair, it’s pretty much who you prefer out of Deron or Amare. Utah is the only undefeated team left in the league, and due in large to the Amare/Shard combo. Utah presents interesting match up problems for opponents, and will be fun to watch come playoff time.
The Loser: The Suns GM obviously came in with the same mind set Steve Kerr claimed/claims to have, totally rebuild the team. I’m not sure what to make of them, Tayshaun Prince is the SG at present and did very well in his debut. Deron Williams is obviously the franchise player, and the Suns GM has put some high flying forwards around him in the likes of Tayshaun Prince, AK47, and Kenyon Martin. Very interesting team, I’d like to see them put Dampier back on the bench and go with Rudy at the 2. I like this trade for Utah only because I don’t really like Deron, it was a fair trade and if the GM feels like Deron is that good then I like what Phoenix has done.

Kings 2010 First Round Pick
Total Incoming Salary:$16,810,101
Total Outgoing Salary:$19,494,000
The Winner: I’m starting to love this team, and 24 has to be at least thinking about the Clippers now. Brooks/Gordon/Melo/Griffin/Hawes with Thornton off the bench looks pretty solid to me. Melo gives the Clippers that franchise player they have only had once, and he left them and was never the same again. Brooks has all the potential in the world to become an elite PG, same with Gordon at the 2. Hawes looks very nice at the 5 spot and can spread the floor for the Hulk, Blake Griffin! On behalf of LA and the Clippers Nation, Clippers GM you did a very good job with this team
The Loser: Another controversial trade, but I like it for the Magic at this point in time. Nelson/Crawford/Carter/Camby/12 is a heck of a team, thought maybe the acquisition of Marvin Williams made dealing Melo less attractive? This team just needs to stay afloat while 12 and Carter get healthy, but plug in Pietrus and Williams and you still have a solid team. Losing Melo is going to hurt for the future, but the over looked piece in the trade is the Kings 1st. The West is stacked (look at the standings) SAC might make the playoffs, or they might end up in the lottery. In any case I feel like once again this is a win-win deal for both teams.
The Sacramento Kings trades:
(81)Chris Kaman ---$10,400,000--$11,300,000---$12,200,000
(75)Andres Nocioni---$7,500,000---$6,850,000---$6,650,000---$7,500,000(TO)
Total Outcoming: $17,900,000
Total Incoming: $16,207,183
to the Miami Heat for:
(70)James Jones $4,320,000 $4,665,600(TO) $5,038,848(TO) $5,441,956(TO)
(73)Dorrell Wright $2,887,183
(77)Mehmet Okur $9,000,000
Total Outcoming:$16,207,183
Total Incoming: $17,900,000
The Winner: I really tore Miami apart for trading JO, Beasley, Chalmers, 1st for Agent and Okur, but after this deal I like that deal more. Kaman is better for this team than JO, I don’t really like Beasley, and the upgrade at the PG position is very nice. They have a good chance of keeping Wade now with Kaman down at the C position, no matter what happens with Agent. Noci and Hasslem is a decent forward combo, and I think the Heat should get a low seed in the playoffs. Wade is the best player that is going to be playing in the Eastern side of the bracket in the playoffs (baring a trade, no way Toronto makes it) so they have a punchers chances of beating anyone. Agent will only add to that punchers chance, but how will the two play together?
The Loser: I don’t care how much you like Okur, Kaman is better than Okur plain and simple. Kaman’s contract is longer and very reasonable, while Okur will have to be resigned. Though SAC did get rid of Noci’s contract and I do like James Jones, but overall I believe they hurt their team. On the bright side with Zach Randolph at the 4, Okur can create space for him with his ability to shoot it from deep. This team is going to have problems scoring, no one but Randolph can create their own shot and I don’t think he is a #1 go to guy. We will see how this works out for the Kings, they are putting everything in for this year but I would like them more with Kaman.
Rockets Get:
PG Baron Davis 88 $12,150,000/$13,050,000/$13,950,000 /$14,850,000
SF Steve Novak 58 $1,030,189/1
Total: $13,530,189
Clippers Get:
SG Jamal Crawford 80 $9,360,000/$10,080,000
PG Aaron Brooks 75 $1,118,520/$2,016,691(TO)/$2,976,637(TO)
PF Carl Landry 71 $3,000,000/$3,0000,000
2010 1st (Hawks)
2011 1st (Rockets)
Total: $13,478,520
The Winner: Another win-win trade for both teams, Rockets get what they want and that is a superstar to help form a big 3 with Yao and T-mac for this year. After this year the though the Rockets maybe in the lottery depending on what happens with their players. For this year though Bdiddy/T-mac/Battier/Kwame/Yao with Z off the bench is looking like an elite team in the West so far. They did lose to Portland, but Bdiddy shot 13 3’s. Obviously it’s going to take time to get a run and gun player like Davis use to the half court, and if he doesn’t he knows he will be gone. They did mortgage their future for now, but I think it’s worth the gamble since T-mac and Yao may never play again in real life.
The Loser: Brooks and Landry both have good potential, especially Aaron Brooks. He really torched the Lakers in the 2nd round last year when the Rockets took the Lakers to 7. Now he’ll be playing at Staples full time, something the Lakers can’t be too happy about. Carl Landry is extremely athletic and at worst he bring some toughness, defense, and rebounding. I think there is a chance he is more though, but he’ll be nice backing up The Hulk. Crawford (who got traded to Orlando for Melo) was nice value back, and helped the Clippers get Melo. Overall I like the move for both teams, but only time will tell who really won (or if both won?)
Orlando trades:
Rashard Lewis 88 |$18,876,000| $20,514,000|$22,152,000|$23,790,000|
Marcin Gortat 70 $5,854,000|$6,322,320|$6,790,640|$7,258,960|$7,727,280
2010 Orlando First round draft pick
Total salaries: $24,730,000
Denver Trades:
Carmelo Anthony 89 SF $15,779,912 $17,149,243 $18,518,575
Steven Hunter 67 C $3,696,000
Total salaries: $19,475,912
The Winner: This was a great trade, though many hated the Magic GM trading Melo to the Clippers. It’s hard to go back and say “what if” but 12/Melo/Carter would have been an impressive trio with Nelson as well. Melo would have had to play the 4 though, until the Marvin Williams deal. I’m not sure if I l like Nelson/Crawford/Carter/Camby/12 with Stravin Marvin off the bench, or Nelson/Carter/Melo/Williams/12…but I am VERY tempted to take the latter. Overall all though people underestimate Orlando, this team will be tough come playoff time.
The Loser: Another case of GM Brad Jasper having to deal a player, he just couldn’t stand to have Melo on his team. Melo obviously has more potential than Shard plain and simple, and that’s why Orlando wins this trade. Gortat’s contract sucks and while that 2010 has some value in a trade, it hardly makes up for the difference in potential between the two stars. For right now Melo isn’t just TONS better than Shard (I think Shard is an underrated player), but Melo is a lot younger and has a lot better contract. DEN is set in his ways though, he loves the trade.
New Jersey Nets Trade
83 PG Devin Harris $8,400,000 $8,981,000 $9,319,000 $8,500,000
Total Incoming - $8,470,476
Total Outgoing - $8,400,000
Charlotte Bobcats Trade
Johnny Flynn (73) - $2,969,280 - $3,192,000 - $3,414,720 - $4,329,864 - $5,776,038
Raymond Felton (76) - $5,501,196
CHA 2010 2nd Round Pick
CHA 2011 1st Round Pick
Total Incoming - $9,241,400
Total Outgoing - $8,400,000
The Winner: GM of the Year right here, Bobcats failed to get Deron Williams (league veto of the trade), but was able to land Devin Harris. Oh I also forget they signed Allen “We talkin’ about practice” Iverson, to compliment Harris in the back court. The front court is interesting with Marion/Gwall/Okafor, undersized but very quick and a good PERMEITER defending front line. Only weakness the Kitties have right now is teams like Houston, Orlando, and Cleveland (though they won’t do it with Nash at PG) pounding the ball inside to a dominating post player. Heck Andrew Bynum has been torching the Kitties and he sucks. Get the Kitties a dominating big man or another 4 to play next to Okafor and they will be tough in the East.
The Loser: Not a fan of this deal at all for the Nets, Harris was the franchise player and now they have nothing. The GM is suppose to have a man crush on Jonny Flynn, and I hope that works out because right now he isn’t even in the rotation. Rafer Alston, Raymond Felton, Jonny Flynn, and Kenyon Dooling is WAY too many PG’s, and I bet they have a few more. I think this is probably the biggest mistake trade so far in the league, no big time FA will want to come play with these young players while Harris will make the Bobcats a legit contender.
The Atlanta Hawks trades:
Mike Bibby(81) - $6,200,000, $6,000,000, $5,800,000
Al Hortford(78) - $4,307,640, $5,444,857(TO) $7,143,652(TO)
Zaza Pachulia(71) - $4,750,000, $4,750,000, $4,750,000, $4,750,000
Total Outcoming: $15,257,640
Total Incoming: 11,219,970
to the Sacramento Kings for:
Kevin Martin(85)---$10,180,170---$11,100,005---$12,019,840--$12,939,675
Taj Gibson(65)---$1,039,800---$1,117,680---$1,195,680(TO)--$2,155,811(TO)--$3,181,977(TO)
Total Outcoming: 11,219,970
Total Incoming: $15,257,640
The Winner: Kevin Marin is a good young player with a lot of talent, but giving up two almost 80's was a huge price to pay for his services. If Kevin develops into a super star, Atlanta probably wins this deal. If not then Atlanta gave Sacramento two key pieces to help them now. Though I’m not a big Mike Bibby fan he is still an 80, and was the only force in the locker room for them last year. Joe Johnson and Kevin Martin will both have to setup and be vocal leaders for this trade to work.
The Loser: This trade could end up making or breaking the Kings franchise, not that there is much to break but you get my point. Bibby and Horford will help the Kings make a playoff run now, but Kevin Martin has superior potential to either one of them. Sure Horford could end up being a nice player, but sky’s the limit for Kevin Martin. Kings really need a 2 guard to be able to compete with the other teams in the West, if they don’t get it they may find themselves lottery bound.
Denver trades:
Michael Redd 84 SG $17,040,000 $18,300,000
Michael Beasley 82 SF/PF $4,638,600 $4,962,240 $6,262,340 $8,172,363
Total salaries: $21,678,600
Indy Trades:Danny Granger 87 SF 9,930,500 | 10,973,202| 12,015,904| 13,058,606| 14,021,788
Andrea Bargnani 75 C/PF/SF 6,527,490 | 8,000,000 | 9,000,000 | 10,000,000 | 11,000,000 | 12,000,000
Total salaries: 16,457,990
The Winner: This is an interesting trade for both teams, though I get the logic more for IND than for DEN. Pacers suck and if Beasley becomes what he is suppose to be, then the Hoosier State is saved. If not then they still suck and collect their lottery picks. Redd was in there for value, and I would expect Jason Kidd and him to be on the way out pretty soon. Losing Bargs will hurt, but I think the reward is worth the risk they took. I think the Pacers are better with YIIIII in charge, but I still think they need to make a few more trades and get younger.
The Loser: This is basically an “I decided to have a man crush on Danny Granger and I want him so bad" type deal. I’m not sure what the Nuggets are doing, if they want to get younger they did a good job. If they want to win now I believe they hurt themselves, because now they have no SG or SF (depending on where Granger plays.) I also think for one year Redd maybe a better #1 player because he can shoot, Granger is more of a “do it all” type guy. I believe Denver’s once crazy good offense is now gone, but this is a more balanced squad. West doesn’t really fit in, but the GM vows never to trade him. Brad Jasper is an interesting fellow; he just dealt his two of his three “favorite players” in Arenas and Redd. I doubt he’s done dealing and will probably deal anyone, but this is a decent deal for the Nuggies.
Nuggets trade:
Gilbert Arenas 85 PG $16,192,080 $17,730,694 $19,269,308 $20,807,922 $22,346,536
Mehmet Okur 77 C $9,000,000
Total incoming: $28,410,600
Total outgoing: $25,192,080
Heat trade:
Jermaine O'Neal 84 C/PF $23,016,000
Michael Beasley 82 PF/SF $4,638,600 $4,962,240 $6,262,34$8,172,363
Mario Chalmers 70 PG $756,000 $854,839
2010 First Round Draft Pick
Total incoming: $25,192,080
Total outgoing: $28,410,600

The Winner: Nuggets finally get that center they always need (not only in this league but TB usually needs a center in every league) in Jermaine O’Neal. Some people must not have watched him last year with Miami; he was blocking shots like bullet proof vests. He really gives Denver some toughness, and they get Mike Beasley who has a ton of potential, Mario Chalmers who is a nice young prospect, and a 1st round pick. All they had to give up was Agent and Okur, Denver raped in this trade hands down and looks like a dominating force in the Western Conference. With JO expiring, the Nuggets could even be a major player in the 2010 free agency?
The Loser: If they hadn’t gotten Kaman they would be in a world of trouble, trading all their potential for Arenas and Okur. This is not a good trade for the Heat, if Chalmers and/or Beasley become something then Miami is going to feel silly. I guess he overvalued Arenas, I mean it is possible O’Neal has a better year than him if he gets hurt (I’m sure some people will call me stupid, but 15 games in 2 years?) Okur would have been alright spreading the floor for Wade, but I like them much much better with Kaman underneath the post. I think Kaman is set to have a break out year, and this Miami team will be a low playoff seed (as I said before.)
